Some companies begin with a market opportunity. Pioneer Yachts began with a gap. The solar-electric yacht Mike Frank wanted to own did not exist. A system designed for continuous, reliable use at sea.

Frank remains majority shareholder, having transitioned operational leadership to a management team.
With Pioneer Yachts, he applies the same principle to the maritime sector: Clear system architecture, measurable performance and continuous, refinement through use.
As the son of a commercial shipping captain, the sea was never a lifestyle backdrop. It was a working environment defined by responsibility, navigation and technical discipline.
The first PY60 is founder-operated and serves as the reference platform. All systems are monitored under real conditions. Operational data informs further development. Subsequent units evolve from measured experience.
Pioneer Yachts is not a diversification project. It is the continuation of a consistent approach: building systems that function independently, operate efficiently and remain technically accountable over time.
